Jared Redington is a third-year university student at Rochester Institute of Technology studying Photographic Sciences. In his multiple careers as an artist, student, and engineer, he is equally respected for his innovative creations, software tools, and deep knowledge of imaging, as he is for his photography and storytelling abilities.
As an artist, his work has been featured in numerous exhibits across the country, and has appeared in prestigious award shows. In 2019, he was awarded Best Natural Landscape Image for his photograph ‘Serenity’ by a panel of judges from the entire state of New Jersey. In 2022, he was awarded the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences Purchase Prize for his photograph ‘Eye of the Hurricane’ by a panel of judges at Rochester Institute of Technology.
As an engineer, Jared currently works for NVIDIA as a software engineer and image quality engineer. Here, he designed and programmed a software tool to analyze HDR images, and has worked on other projects which cannot be disclosed. In addition to this, he has developed a facial recognition software for CCTV cameras, and created an equatorial mount designed for professional grade use for astronomers.
Jared splits his time between Wharton, NJ, and Rochester, NY.
